Our hotel was very
nice, and the desayuno (breakfast), delicioso! But, it rained all day with only a few peeks
from the sun! Ugh! Wet and muddy, a nasty combination for our
first day out. We finally made it to Zubiri after about 8 hours on the
road. The pension has a shared bathroom
with one other room, but also a washer and dryer for all our muddy
clothes! The owner even dried our
clothes and folded them while we went out for supper. God is truly good! We had a great “pilgrim’s meal” of wine,
bread, pureed vegetable soup, peppers stuffed with cod, fries and fruit
cocktail. Dios gracias! [For lunch, we stopped in Espinal to share a sandwich (bocadillo) and fruit juices—a tiny bar,
but with a very kind lady who gave me hot water to drink and had a bathroom!]May 29, 2013
