This morning we left the lovely ‘Casa el cura’ (bought from the church)
and proceeded, under sunny skies (Praise God!) to Mansilla de las Mulas. We
walked over 14 miles to get here and then couldn’t find any place we liked or
that had vacancies—for over 2 hours! (One “Hotel with 3 stars” told us it’s
“not for sleeping!”) We finally went to
an “Hostal,” Centro del Turismo Rural el
Puente. It was 46Ԑ, which I thought
was very over-priced! We walked around
the town a bit, bought some fruit, met our Swiss-Italian friends, and planned
to meet them for supper.
We did meet Loris
and Paula for supper, and enjoyed a fun time, telling of all our mishaps and
misadventures on the Way of the Camino.
The population of these tiny towns is incredible. One had 35, another 55, and last night’s, 100
people living there, 400 in the summer.
I pray tonight is
better for me. Last night, I had a bad
case of diarrhea, which is much better today, Praise God!
