Happy First Saturday of our Lady!
Today, after breakfast, we left Santo
Domingo and started toward Belorado. Shortly after Graňon, however, we somehow took a wrong turn and ended up in a
tiny farming hamlet! It was Villarta!
Thanks to Dios, La Virgen y todos los santos, we met a lovely old
farmer and his friendly neighbor lady who explained we had walked “muy mal,”
and were not on the Camino! Apparently,
lost peregrinos are a daily occurrence here!
The man drove the 3 of us (a lost Italian pilgrim had joined us) to the
nearest town on the Camino, Praise God, so we continued on our way. We arrived in Belorado about 2:30 p.m. and
got the pilgrims’ rate at the Jacobeo Hotel.
There’s free internet, so we were able to email the girls, P.T.L.! (The computer kept translating the emails
from America into Spanish—too funny!) We visited several churches, had dinner
with merluzza, checked out Sunday Masses and went back to the hotel. God is good!
