Today we had breakfast at our hotel and walked to the Mass at the
Convent of the Clarissas. The nuns and
postulates were in front of the grating, whereas the rest of us were behind the
grating (except when the priest came to our side to distribute Communion.) It was cold and rainy and dreary. We left Belorado and stopped in Villafranca Montes de Oca (goose), a little over 12 km. Don didn’t want to go on, because the next 12
km are supposed to be really hard (hills)!
So, we got a room in the Hotel San
Anton Abad (St. Anthony, Abbott) because Don read that it was “worth
it.” The breakfast is included, so that
clinched it! We washed our clothes, hung them out, used the computer briefly,
watched T.V., and, generally, vegged out.
We’re in the province of Burgos, now. We
had a good Pilgrim’s Meal in the hotel.
Thank you, God, for a safe day!June 9, 2013
