June 11, 2013

Today we left Atapuerca (loud teenagers all night=bad!) after a nice breakfast at a coffee shop/bakery.  The walk to Burgos was a little muddy, but, otherwise, fine!  We met a man in Burgos who showed us the River Walk path to the Cathedral (instead of the loud street and traffic), Praise God!  Then a lady directed us on to the Cathedral itself and told us about nearby bed-and-breakfast possibilities.
We prayed to find a nice, reasonable hotel/hostal/pension near the Cathedral—and found one!  45 Ԑ, ultra modern, looks brand new, an “Urban Hostal” with a café (bar) downstairs.  The man at the desk called the albergue nearby and determined we could use their washing machine/dryer!  So, we may stay here tomorrow and even do some laundry!
We had a large salad and a glass of Sangria downstairs, and then went on the audio tour of the Burgos Cathedral—really beautiful!  We had an “Italian” ice cream cone afterwards.

We went to the 7:30 p.m. Cathedral Mass and then ate dinner—paella, green beans, melon, wine and bread—it was O.K.  (We tried to find a computer to use at the library, but need to go to a different library tomorrow.)
