Today, we left Nájera at 6:30 a.m., since nowhere was open for desayuno, yet.  We stopped a few hours later is Azorfa for toast, coffee and juice, and walked on until we arrived in Santo Domingo a little after noon.  We found a reasonably-priced 3-star hotel, El Corregidor, right on the Pilgrim’s route, Praise God!  Lunch didn’t start until 1:30 p.m., so we showered, did hand laundry, hung it out to dry, and had lunch in the hotel restaurant, Alleluia!  Between the two of us, we finished a bottle of local wine!  We followed this by a nap in our room.  Afterwards, we toured the cathedral and museum, and walked up the tower.
We went to Mass, bought bread, cheese, ham and fruit, and ate in our room tonight.

Santo Domingo is named after the saint who was instrumental in building roads, bridges and hospitals for the pilgrims on their way to Santiago!  Santo Domingo, ruega por nosotros!
