SANTIAGO!
Then they cried to the Lord in their need,

he rescued them from their distress,

to reach a city they could dwell

We earned our
Compostela, PTL! God is so good! Today, after a lovely buffet breakfast at our
hotel in Lavacolla, we arrived at the Cathedral around 11:15 a.m., in plenty of
time for the Pilgrims’ Mass at noon! [There were priests hearing confessions
all around the periphery—in various languages!] We were doubly blessed, because
they used the giant censor (Botafumeiro)
which was quite something! We then went
to the Avenida Hotel (which we had
actually reserved, because Santiago is very busy this time of year), left our
backpacks, and went for a Menu del Día
lunch! We returned to the Cathedral to
look around, climb behind the statue of St. James , and go to evening Mass (in
Galician!) for Sunday, PTL! Finally, we
had the free Pilgrims’ meal offered at the Parador
Hotel!
…thank the Lord for his mercy, his
wonders…for he satisfies
the
thirsty soul, and the hungry he fills with good things. From Psalm 107
