One month since we left the U.S., on May 27th, Praise God!
We left Molinaseca and 7 hours later, arrived
in Cacabelos at the Hotel Villa de Cacabelos Hotel we had
seen advertized on the path (2 times, in the middle of vineyards and green
hills!) For 52Ԑ, it is a beautiful
double room (habitación doble) con baño!
I immediately washed clothes and Don put out the “line” on the tiniest
glass balcony you’ve ever seen! The
price also includes a buffet breakfast which certainly sounds enticing!
About 2 hours
before arriving here, we stopped at a Cooperativa
viñas for wine and tapas, 1,50Ԑ, that was mentioned in Don’s Brierley book
(wrongly written as a “wine tasting with appetizer for 1Ԑ.”)
We also stopped in
Ponferrada, and got Don new walking
shoes, because one of his had a hole all the way through to the ground! The place was very reasonable and had 2
floors of shoes, Praise God!
At Mass (Iglesia de Santa Maria), the priest gave
the peregrinos special mention and a
blessing. We had a great Merluza a la plancha for dinner and paella, P.T. L.!
