June 26, 2013

Today we left Rabanal and walked 8 hours (with 2 short breaks) up into the hills—then down and up again—to Molinaseca, where we’re staying in the same Hostal as our Italian/Swiss friends. (Paula is still having problems with her infected cist and her strained ankle, poor thing.)
I walked part of the way with Annika from South Africa!  She’s a fast walker, too!  There are 6 of them—all ladies—doing part of the Camino (3 weeks, I think)  [At least one of the ladies, she said, is very unprepared for the Camino, so she needs to stop more and go slower.  This causes the rest of them some problems.  They’ve finally decided to just call each other to say where they’ll meet at the end of the day’s walk.]
Our hostal is nice, Hostal El Horno, close to a church and the Rio Manuelo, where there are people wading and sun bathing!
There was no Mass, so we walked around, had an ice cream, and plan to meet Loris and Paula for supper.

[From tonight’s Evening Prayer, May Almighty God lead us along ways of mercy and peace all our days. Amen.]
