This morning we left Villalcazar de Sirga after breakfast—in the pouring rain!  After 5 hours, we (finally) arrived in Calzadilla de la Cueza, Praise God!  There is only one bar/albergue/hostal in the whole village (called a “ghost town” by a man from Australia).  We ate a small pizza and red pepper salad and then booked a room with bath here, at “Hostal Camino Real.”  The owner has done 5 caminos, one of them in the snow!
After touring the very tiny village (and determining there are no weekday Masses), we visited with and played “Scopa” (Italian card game) with people from England, Australia, Sweden, Denmark, Ireland, and Italy.  Wow, what a slice of International discourse!

We had the Pilgrims’ (10Ԑ) “Menu,” which included garbanzo soup, Bacalau with sauce, rice, wine, bread, water and cocoanut mousse!  God is good…yummy!  We shared a table with the Swiss-Italian couple we’ve stayed with at several stops!  They also like hostals or hotels, since they go potty at night as we do!
